At Olafsvik, guests can choose from a range of accommodation, with both private and shared facilities. Each comfortable guest room has twin beds, a TV and work desk. Most studio apartments have twin beds, a sofa bed, a private bathroom, refrigerator, microwave, cable TV and cooking facilities. Whale watching cruises, deep sea fishing and glacier tours have become very popular with Hotel Olafsvik's guests. The hotel surroundings also include a beautiful beach, a waterfall and an unusual triangle-shaped church. The in-house restaurant at Olafsvik seats up to 100 guests and often serves the seafood catch of the day. There is also access to a fully equipped conference room seating up to 300 people.

The glacier-topped strato-volcano Snaefellsjokull is renowned for its mystical powers and is one of the most famous sites in Iceland. Snaefellsjokull National Park – Iceland's only National Park to extend to the seashore – covers an area of 170 km². Snaefellsjokull glacier towers majestically over the park, with trails of lava and signs of volcanic activity clearly visible on its flanks. Snow-mobile tours to the top of the glacier depart from Arnarstapi.
